希臘化時代是世界史作為人類對自身整體歷史之反觀的奠基時期，也許可被視為人類歷史自文字成為統治行政工具以降的首次鉅變期，影響深及今日。在其三世紀餘橫跨歐亞的時空中，原本形式上對峙的多種族與文化在泛希臘文明論述的架構中取得足以共生諧進的有機位置，從而促成「國際」概念的成熟，也就是所謂「人居地」(gè oikoumenè)。本課程試圖探討支撐亦或挑戰這一理想化架構的政經脈絡，以及相關的精神與教化策略。

• 詳實認知西元前第一千年紀的環地中海與近東區域地理條件、斷代與重要政治事件。
• 完成課堂上實際要求之閱讀。
• 參與討論以及進行小組報告。
• 完成指定作業。
• 同「課程目標」。
* 中英文交替授課。Lectures in Mandarin and English.
• 所有書面作業皆需採此格式：打字報告，字題採12pt，中文請採取細明或儷宋體(Lisong Pro)，拉丁字母請使用Times New Roman，行距18pt，A4紙張版面，上下左右頁緣皆設為2.5公分，標題自理(除非教師於課堂中明訂)，必須加上學生姓名、學號、課程名程、日期與授課教師院系與姓名(請特別注意以上規定的形式，也列入評分)。主文部分，母語非漢語者，可以英文書寫，母語為漢語者，在要求以中文書寫時，僅能以中文書寫；專用詞彙盡可能採用外語(避免無意義、妨礙理解的漢語音譯)。所有作業皆需按時繳交，逾期絕對不收(除非惡疾、重傷或葬喪等人力不可克服的因素)，以零分計。

2.	書面定期作業與研究計畫	50%	格式請見上「課程要求」。隔週繳交一次閱讀報告，共六份(3份以英文、3份以中文書寫)，每份不超過一頁(不包括標題與參考資料)，每份佔分6%；另繳一份主題研究計畫書(主題將依實授狀況由教師提出)，不含標題與參考資料不超過3頁，佔分14%。所有作業皆需按時繳交，逾期絕對不收(除非惡疾、重傷或葬喪等人力不可克服的因素)，以零分計。
3.	原典閱讀口頭報告與書面結果呈現	30%	必須分組進行報告，每位組員都必須發言，每人5分鐘；嚴格計時，不足及超出過多者皆扣分。必須預擬報告計畫書與講稿。計畫書必須於報告前至少一星期時繳出，講稿則於報告後立即繳出。整體合作表現10%，計畫書(需註明每人負責部分)10%，個人表現與講稿10%。書面呈現的格式請見上「課程要求」。必須按時完成報告與繳交書面要求，逾期絕對不收(除非惡疾、重傷或葬喪等人力不可克服的因素)，以零分計。
